Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is an important technique to know as therapists. This type of therapy is complementary to many of the techniques that are already used in muscle therapy. For example, Lymphatic drainage is used within sports massage to help drain excess metabolic waste that the athlete develops through his or her training. Manual lymphatic drainage can be used to reduce swelling after a muscle injury or after surgery. This technique is also used after both bodily and facial aesthetic surgeries.
